The battle

You don’t watch the war from above. You stand in it.

Two armies of up to 15,000 men each march, clash and fight to the last, every one of them animated. You draw a real sword from your hip, raise your shield to a blow you saw coming, and cut your way through the line with your own arms.

When you want the bigger picture, take to the sky and watch the whole battle unfold beneath you. When you want back in, swoop down, pick any soldier on your side, and become him.

Scale

War on a scale VR has never seen

Up to 30,000 soldiers share one battlefield, and none of them is a painted backdrop. Every man walks, runs, swings, blocks, falls and cheers on his own.

Armies that behave like armies
Legionaries advance in tight squares. Barbarians break into a wild sprint. Knights walk, then charge. Archers hold back and shoot.
Archers fill the sky
Volleys of thousands of arrows rise in real arcs, fall into the ranks, and the misses stay stuck in the ground.
The fallen stay where they fall
Nobody is cleared away. The ground fills with bodies, blood and dust as the battle goes on.

Combat

Fight with your own hands

There are no buttons for attacks. You swing, thrust, block and parry with your real arms, and the weapon in your hand behaves like steel with weight.

Cut through them
A committed swing cleaves through and carries on. A weak one bites in and sticks, and you have to wrench your blade free.
Enemies who fight back with intent
They wind up from the left, the right, overhead. Read it, block it, and the attacker staggers open to your counter.
They read your swing too
Enemies watch your blade and parry, steel on steel. Feint, change your angle, find the gap.

Arsenal

Draw it, nock it, let it fly

Pull an arrow from your quiver, draw the string to your cheek and let go. Crank a crossbow until the string clicks. Throw your javelin into the ranks, then go and get it back.

Four holsters on your body
Both hips and both shoulders. Put any weapon anywhere and reach for it without looking.
Shields stop blades
Raise yours and blows glance off. Enemy shields crack and break after enough punishment.
Earn your steel
Start as a Recruit with a sword, shield, spear, axe and bow. Better weapons unlock as you rise.

Spectate & possess

Watch from the sky, then take a soldier

Rise into the air and fly freely over the field. Glide along the front line or climb until you see both armies end to end. Then swoop down, pick any man on your side, and become him.

Switch any time
Start as a spectator, or press Spectate mid-battle and rise straight up from where you stand.
Death is not the end
If you fall, you rise into the sky. Find another soldier, take him over, and get back into the fight.

Custom battle

Build your war, then lead it

Pick three unit types per side for your front, middle and rear. Choose the numbers, from ten against ten to a lone squad against 29,000. Any army against any other.

No two armies look the same
Most unit cards hold several soldier models, mixed through the ranks, so a regiment looks like a crowd of real men.
Random Armies
Roll a fresh match-up in one press.
